Alan Randolph "Randy" Hayes, 63 of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
Born August 26, 1957 in Robeson County, Randy was the son of the late Leroy Glenn Hayes and Eugenia Pearl Bass Hayes. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Hayes.
Randy is survived by his wife, Toni Hayes of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Kim Reed and husband "Whimpy" of Hope Mills; sister, Melinda Wallace and husband Justin of Southern Pines; brother, Leroy Glenn Hayes, Jr. of Fayetteville; stepbrother, Leroy Wayne Hayes of Rocky Mount; stepmother, Elizabeth Hayes of Rocky Mount; lifetime friend, Randy Clayton of Kenly; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Randy enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1975 and served until 1987, achieving the rank Petty Officer 1st Class (E-6). He was the recipient of numerous ribbons and medals during his time of service. Following his military career, he worked as a truck driver with several companies over the years. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and taking road trips on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Randy will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
