Alice Crawford Bizzell, 83, of Hope Mills, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019.
Born October 16, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, Alice was the daughter of the late William Henry Scott and Dorothy Taylor. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Scott; twin brother, Richard Scott; brother, Bill Scott; sister, Dorothy Muse; and son, William T. Spaulding.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Sheila Merriman and husband Will, Dale Sorensen and husband Christian, Sindi Fernandez, and Elizabeth Bizzell; twelve grandchildren, Natalie, Michael, Matthew, Brandi, Brittani, Alexis-Jade, Maximie, Xaviena, Alanis, Mykayla, Eric, and Alivia; seven great grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Jada-Bell, Rylee, Luke, Emery, and Adeline; and a host of other family members and friends.
Alice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hope Mills, NC. She loved her church, and was an active member until her health restricted her ability to attend regularly.
Alice was admired as being a positive and fun person to be around. She has been described as "a bright light" whose gentle and sweet personality could attract any stranger turning them quickly into a great friend.
Her hobbies were making blankets for her grandchildren and roses from Play-Doh, which adorned her home and collected by anyone who came to visit her. There are fond memories of her teaching grands how to bake and build gingerbread houses.
