April 4, 1935, Ben and Estella Dixon became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Lucille Dixon, who years later became Lucille Dixon Freeman.
Lucille was a humble, stubborn, free spirited, no-nonsense person. She knew her heart and her mind and was unwavering when it came to doing what was right for herself and her two boys, Daniel and Alexander.
Family meant everything to Lucille and for that reason she was an ardent active planner of the Dixon Family reunion for fourteen years.
Cooking was one of Lucille's greatest passions and she was blessed to make a living doing so at the coliseum for many years. "Stars" like Patti Labelle and a long list of others can attest to her great cooking skills.
The blessed few who were able to acquire Lucille's nurturing services as a care giver, has and will testify that she was truly one of God's angels as she could soothe and heal with just a simple smile.
Among those left to cherish her memory are; sons Daniel Freeman and wife Sandra of Cambridge, MA, Alexander Freeman and wife Althia of Fayetteville; sisters Myrtle McCormick of Raeford, Martha McRae of Fayetteville; granddaughters Melissa Freeman and Denia Fransque; grandson Michael Jarret and great-granddaughter Michaile.
