Angela Tyson

Angela Michelle Tyson, 52 of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022.

Born March 21, 1969 in Cumberland County, Michelle is the daughter of Joyce Ann Matthews and the late Edgar Eugene Burgess, Sr. Along with her father, she is also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Broadus and Lila Burgess; maternal grandparents, Roy and Marian Johnson; and aunt, Helen Stevenson.

In addition to her mother, Michelle is survived by her son, Zachery John O'Dell Tyson of Wilmington; son, Cody Eugene Tyson of Raeford; brother, Edgar Eugene Burgess, Jr. and wife Lorie of Greenwood, SC; brother, Bryan Keith Burgess of Greenwood, SC; brother, Giles Art Burgess and wife Karen of Saluda, SC; brother, Bobby Ray Matthews and wife Crystal; nieces, Ashton Burgess and Gracie Burgess; nephews, Easton Burgess and Mason Burgess; nieces, Casey Matthews and Kara Lyn Matthews; nieces, Mary Speed, Carol, and Brenda; several cousins; and a host of other family and friends.

Having worked several years with Food Lion, Michelle was a very trusted and dedicated employee. Wherever she went, she never met a stranger. She enjoyed talking to the customers at work and anyone else she came into contact with. Michelle was an amazing and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who was loved by everyone. She will be greatly missed by all.
