Arthur E. Hecke Jr.

Art Hecke, Jr. 71 of Hope Mills, NC passed away after a long fight with Parkinson’s Disease on June 22, 2023. He was born in Bangor Michigan on May 19, 1952. He served in the US Army from 1970-1974. He was stationed at Fort Bragg.

Art was preceded in death by his father and mother, Arthur Sr and Alice Hecke; and his brother, Michael Hecke. Art is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne Hecke; his son and his wife, Brian and Stephanie Hecke; his daughter, Lisa Hecke; grandchildren, Cherylanne James and her husband Zach, Zachary Hecke and his wife Abby, Emma Hecke, Steven Ricketts, and Arthur “Ryan” Ricketts; great grandson, Harrison James.

Art was an active member of Southview Baptist church where he served in many capacities.  He specifically enjoyed leading his Journey group where he formed lifelong friendships. 

Art loved Jesus and his family. He adored his grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them.  He loved to laugh and make other people laugh.  He loved sharing a good meal with family and friends. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
