Barbara Young Cain of Grays Creek passed away, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Born in Cumberland County, she is the daughter of Hurley and Juanita Bill Young. She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Morris and Samuel Cain. She is also preceded by grandsons, Justin Morris and Aaron Morris; and great-granddaughter, Brighton.
She is survived by her children, Jimmie Lou Morris (Mel), Jamie Morris (Retha), Leroy Morris (Diane) of Gray’s Creek, Shelia Morris Dennis (William), of Southport, NC; grandchildren, Christin (Eric) O’Branovich, Jamie Morris, Samantha (Chris) Pruitt of Hope Mills, Christopher Freeman (Kelly) of Cedar Point, NC, and Rebecca Morris (Bobby) of Supply, NC; great grandchildren, Logan, Tyler, Austin, Cambria, Hunner, Hudson, Easton, Emma, Evan and Emberly; and great great-grandchild, Liam; brother, Hurley and sisters, Jackie Morris and Kity Tew.
Barbara was a life-long member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. She loved her church family. A perfect scripture that would describe Barbara is 2 Timothy 4: 7-8. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at the day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
