Bessie Rose Britt, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, with family by her side.
Born April 23, 1937, in Robeson County, Bessie was the daughter of the late Herman, Sr. and Mary Magdlene "Maggie" Maynor. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hilbreth Paul "Doc" Britt, Jr.; son, Stevie Lowery; brothers, Herman "Buddy" Maynor, Jr. and Johnny Maynor; sisters, Penny McGee, Jennie Locklear, Jackie Maynor, and Sandy Maynor; grandchildren, Michael Britt, Jr. and Jessica Lowery; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Lowery.
Bessie is survived by her sons, Jeffery Lowery and wife Sally Jo, Joel Lowry, and Michael Britt and wife Barbara; sisters, Mary Godwin and Lennie Seymore and husband Ed, brother, Frankie Maynor and wife Mary Ann; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca, Matthew, Joshua, Shania, and Rachael; 8 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Bessie was a devout Christian who strengthened her faith through worship at Hope Mills Church of God, where she had been a lifelong member. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
