Brooks Adcox

Brooks Adcox, 79 of Parkton, went to be with the Lord, February 15, 2015.

Born in Cumberland County, he is the son of the late Charley and Georgia Thaggard Adcox.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty eight years, Betty. Mr. Adcox graduated from Parkton High School and attended UNC at Chapel Hill. After completing his education, he worked at BB&T Bank for many years. He later worked with Home Federal Savings & Loan and retired after 20 plus years. He was involved in various activities in the community including, the Lebanon Lodge #391 and Shriners. During his membership at the Masons, he was the treasurer for many years. Mr. Adcox was a lifelong member of Green Springs Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, loved to sing in the choir, and was involved in other activities including serving on other committees as needed.

During this time Mrs. Adcox would like to thank the staff at Hope Mills Retirement Center, and close friends and family including, Cindy Carter and Doris Sealey, who have stood by her during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greens Springs Baptist Church, 1095 East, Green Springs Road, Parkton, NC 28371, the Masonic Home of Children at Oxford, 600 College St. Oxford, NC 27565, or a charity of your choice.
