Brunnie Mae Henderson Swinson, age 96 of Pin Hook, passed away peacefully December 5, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Born in Duplin County, she is the daughter of the late Norman and Louisa Henderson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Swinson; sisters, Deloris Parker, Etheleen Pierce; brothers, Sam Henderson, Jack Henderson, Cooter Henderson; and son-in-law, Chuck Sutton.
She is survived by her children, Reveshia Larsen and husband Ed, Gilmer Swinson and wife Shelley, Felecia Padgett and husband Greg, and Lycrecia Sutton; grandchildren, Melissa Winstead (Carson), Robby Readling (Leah), Chandy Swinson, Burt Swinson (Morgan), Bryan Alphin (Susie), Deneille Fox (David), Amber Cummings (Amanda),Charles Sutton (Blaire); great grandchildren, Devin, Maddie, Case, Colt, Gracen, Toren, Evan, Owen, Charlotte, Hunter and Bryna; a brother, Tink Henderson and wife Hilda; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Elizabeth Pierce.
Brunnie was a lifetime member of Oak Grove PFWB Church. She and Daddy Sam spent their lives singing and playing music at churches and for shut-ins until his passing. Her family will always remember the wonderful meals she prepared. No one could cook collards or homemade dressing like Granny Brunnie. She also will be remembered for the wonderful homemade cakes she baked for those she loved. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Brian Center in Wallace for the love and care they showed during her time of sickness. A special thanks to everyone who took time to go see mom and brighten her day.
