Carol Russell

On a beautiful quiet day of celebration, our mom Carol Lee Russell also celebrated a new life and a new beginning.

She leaves behind to cherish her life three beautiful children,:her daughter, Annette Johnson and husband Pete of Hope Mills, her son Robert Horne of Raleigh, and her youngest daughter, Tiana Thompson and husband Anthony of St. Pauls. Five grandchildren who loved their "MeMaw" are Lance and Brandon Johnson, Bret Horne, and Gage and Graycee Thompson.

Carol's career at Southern Regional AHEC led to many responsibilities as Resident Coordinator. She thrived on taking care of new doctors, not only in their professional careers, but also becoming their "mom and confidant". She was admired and loved.

She was as much our hero as the soldiers in uniforms.
