Cedric Basnight

Cedric William Basnight, 88 of Hope Mills died Monday, April 23, 2012.



Born in Tyrell County, he is the son of the late Benjamin and Martha Twiddy Basnight.  Mr. Basnight retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army after twenty-two years of service; he was a Master Mason for fifty years and worked Civil Service for twenty years.



Mr. Basnight is survived by his wife Elizabeth; daughters, Brenda Schneider and husband Arnold; Debbie McGee and husband Vance; son, Paul Basnight and wife Jackie; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.



A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills.  Interment will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, April 25th, at the funeral home.
