He was a graduate of South View Sr High School where he was very active with the South View Marching Tigers as a drummer and drum captain. Allen's true love was being a Fireman, which he wanted to do since he was 5 years old. He started his fire career as a volunteer for Grays Creek Station 24. After 20 years with Food Lion he retired to do his true love career being a fireman. He was a Captain with the Pearces Mill Fire Department for 30 years, when he wasn't working at Pearces Mill he worked as the first paid member at Hillcrest Fire Department in Hoke County. He retired in 2019 from Pearces Mill. Anybody who knew Allen knew he was an avid TarHeels, Dale Earnhardt, and Kevin Harvick fan. He loved to volunteer helping with the South View Marching Tigers band. Allen's diabetes got the best of him and weakened him so much, so God said on July 11th come home my son, your suffering is done, come to my arms and receive my love you fought a great fight now you can rejoice. We loved Allen so much. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, Fire Fighter, and friend.
