Charles Byrd

Charles E. Byrd, III, 56 of Rocky Point formerly of Cumberland County, died December 23, 2011.



Born January 26, 1955 to Martha Willard Byrd and the late Charles E. Byrd, Jr, Charles loved to restore old cars with his brothers and repair computers and was a lover and collector of Betty Boop.  He was a member of American Legion Post 165 of Burgaw.



Charles leaves behind a daughter  Angel Malpass and husband Donnie of Virginia;  mother, Martha Bryd of Rocky Point; ; sisters VonCeil Byrd, Frances Cayton  and husband Cliff of Burgaw, Marie Reece and husband Mack  of Fayetteville; ; brothers, Ernest Byrd of Wilmington, , Kenneth Byrd and wife Bernice of Rocky Point, Joseph Byrd and wife Connie of Hope Mils, Terry Bryd of Gloverville, SC; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild;  and special pets of twelve years Lulu, Pete and Sampson.



A  Funeral Service will be held  Monday, December 26, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills conducted by Rev. Gary Leviner.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Culbreth Cemetery.
