Charles Grooms

Charles Edwin Grooms, 81, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016.

Born on April 5, 1935 in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Manley Howard and Lula King Grooms.

Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Cain Grooms; brothers, Roy, Nash, Howard, Paul, Murray, and Eugene Grooms; and sister, Ada Jones.

He is survived by his sons, Eddie and wife Karen of Oak Island, NC, and Kelly and wife Sherry of Archdale, NC; daughters, Cathy Bain and husband Daniel of Stedman, NC, and Melanie Garrett and husband Rodney of Parkton, NC; sisters, Elizabeth Melvin of Charlotte, NC, Ernestine Cox of Chocowinty, NC, Joyce Coleman of Key Largo, FL, and Lucile Black and Sue Cain, both of Fayetteville; brother, Stacy Grooms of Fayetteville; and several grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
