Charles Phillip Kriner, 80 of Hope Mills, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 in his home with family by his side.
Born in Bladen County, NC, Charles is the son of the late James Phillip and Hanna Elizabeth Kriner.
As a jack of all trades, Charles lead a busy life. He began his career at the North Carolina Department of Transportation following in the footsteps of his father and brother and later retired from CC Dickson Company. During his time off he coached Little League and Dixie Youth baseball, peewee and midget football and youth basketball through the Hope Mills Parks and Recreation. When not on the court or field Charles was doing vehicle paint and body work, tinkering on engines large and small, drag racing and admiring classic cars. His baby was his 1967 Chevelle he called Blue Diamond. He was a member of the Fayetteville Cruiser car club for a short time. Charles was a long time member of Hope Mills First Baptist Church where he served in multiple leadership positions. What a full and happy life!
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn A. Kriner; son, Jesse Kriner and wife Belinda; son, Mike Kriner and wife Holly; grandchildren, Matt, Stephen, and Addison; great grandchildren, Thea and Vivia; sisters, Carolyn Pendergraft, Sue Delany and husband Billy, and Lillian Madison; and a host of other family and friends.
Charles was a loving husband of 58 years, active dad, adoring papa and great grandfather, cherished brother and loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
