Daniel Drake

Daniel “Danny” Floyd Drake, 67 of Fayetteville, was born Wednesday, March 2, 1955 in Ankara, Turkey and passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 in Fayetteville.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Leo F. Drake; mother, Ernestine L. (Welch) Davis; and sister, Darla J. (Drake) Katz.

He is survived by his life partner, Linda Harris Smith; brother, David A. Drake; son, Jaymie Drake; daughters, April Drake and Jeannie Diamond; and a host of other family and friends.

Danny honorably served three years in the US Army with Company B, 426th Signal Battalion from 1975 to 1978. He continued serving in the Reserves until retiring in 1992 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retiring, Danny proudly worked as a long-haul truck driver for 35 years.

Dany will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
