David Backerman

David Harold Backerman, 71, of Hope Mills, NC, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 in his home.
He was born on November 7, 1941 in Black Hawk County, Iowa to the late Harold and Gwendolyn Backerman.
David was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Navy after over twenty years of service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Highland Baptist Church in Hope Mills.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Michael Boarts will follow at 7:00pm.
David leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rolene Backerman; daughter, Cheryl Patrick of Hope Mills; sister, Marilyn Trunnell and her husband Mark of Cedar Falls, IA; brother, Ernest Backerman and his wife Jill of Shellman Bluff, GA; and two granchildren, Emilie and Joshua Patrick.
David was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
