Derick Lee Yates, 25, of Hope Mills passed away October 27, 2016

Born in Abington, Virginia, he is the son of Jamie Yates and Lisa Duty Yates. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ronnie Raines.
He is survived by his mother, Lisa Yates and fiancé Johnny Brown and father, Jamie Yates & fiancée Tracie King, all of Hope Mills; maternal grandparents, Garneth and Marcella Duty and paternal grandmother, Wanda Raines, all of Virginia; girlfriend, Jessica (Jes) Rorschach and a special friend, Adam Butcher, both of Fayetteville.

Derick was a graduate of Southview High School and Fayetteville Technical Community College. He enjoyed dirt track racing, shooting his gun and loved working on his jeep. He was employed at TruGreen Lawn Care in Fayetteville.

Derick loved his family and friends. His greatest joy came from helping others. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
