Dillfrede Peal

Dillfrede Carney Peal, 95, of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Hope Mills Retirement Center.

Born July 18, 1926 in Boone County, WV, Dillfrede is the son of the late John and Mamie Peal. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel Peal; second wife, Irene Peal; and grandson, Jonathon Lee.

Dillfrede is survived by his daughter, Freda Lee; son, Kelly Peal; daughter, Joyce Hays; grandchildren, Kristen Davidson, Jessica Jones, Taylor Hays, and Logan Hays; great grandchildren, Jenna Lee, Noah Lee, Addison Davidson, and Jacob Jones; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

After more than 20 years of service, Dillfrede retired from the U.S. Army in 1971 at the rank of SFC. During his military career, he was the recipient of numerous awards and medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Hope Mills Pentecostal Church. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking and woodworking.

Dillfrede will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
