Donnie Kennedy

Mr. Donnie Ray Kennedy, 79, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 in his home.

Born in Wake County, he was the son of the late Haston Marvin Kennedy and Dorothy Cotton Kennedy.

He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Hamilton Kilpatrick of Hayesville; two sons, David Wayne Kennedy and wife Rose of Hope Mills, and Donald Christopher Kennedy of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Taylor Kilpatrick, Harrison Kilpatrick, Blake Kennedy, Jordan Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy and Paige Smart and husband Donald; and a brother Johnnie Hugh Kennedy of Wilmington.

Donnie was a Licensed Optician in North Carolina since 1963. He opened Bordeaux Optical Shop in Fayetteville in 1971, a business still serving the area. He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church for over 40 years, and a Mason and Shriner and was a member of the Oriental Band in the Shriners Club. Donnie was a good father and cared about his family. He loved his corvette and car shows and liked working in his yard. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
