Dorothy Hales

Mrs. Dorothy Fryar Hales 83 of Hope Mills passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010.

She was a member of Lake Lynn Baptist Church. Mrs. Hales was a graduate of Highsmith Rainey Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1947, where she received her Registered Nursing Degree. She spent more than forty years in nursing at Hope Mills General Hospital until closing; thereafter, as a supervisor at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center until medical retirement.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two children; Linda Priest and husband Kenneth McDonald of Fayetteville and Donald Hales and wife Jean of Hope Mills; a brother, John Fryar, Jr., of Holden Beach; a sister, Jane Fryar Elkins of Florida; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, along with other loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hales was preceded in death by her loving husband, Adam; her father, Johnnie W. Fryar; her mother, Annie Laurie Byrd Owen; and her beloved sister, Peggy Bryant.

Mrs. Hales was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
