Elizabeth Ellen Dew

Elizabeth Ellen Dew, age 76, of Hope Mills (Grays Creek), North Carolina, passed away on February 24, 2024. She was born in Cumberland County to the late Clyde Ingalls, Sr. and Bertha Ingalls.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her father in law, Owen James Dew, Jr. and mother in law, Christine Mildred Dew; brother, Clyde Christopher Ingalls, Jr.; and brother in law, Owen F. Dew.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Mike Dew; daughter, Rev. Christy E. Dew and wife Christina; sister, Dianne Brown (Pat); sister in law, Terry Ingalls; brothers in law, Jimmy Dew (Elsie), Johnnie Dew (Charlotte), and Tony Dew (Barbara); cousins, Phillip Smith, Barbara Allen, and Ada Hauser (Jim); nieces and nephews, Rene (Jason), Layla (Shane), Jessie, Kenneth, Kevin (Amanda), Melissa (McCall), Brooke (Kendall), Misty, Melinda (Charlie), Amy (Chris), Hannah (Bryan), Eric (Krista), Matt, Sarah (Roger); and numerous great nieces and nephews and many more beloved family members that love her.

Elizabeth is known as “Mama Libby” or “Aunt Libby” by many in the Grays Creek area. She supported her beloved community as a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and served in Grays Creek Womens Club as president in previous years. She was loved abundantly by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her and never met a stranger. She welcomed people into her home and would feed anyone that walked through her door. She was a gifted seamstress, artist, and loved flowers. Her family and friends will cherish all the memories they made with her.
