Ernest Franklin Anderson age 67 of Hope Mills, died Monday, September 27, 2010. He was was born April 2, 1943 during hard times in our country into a large family. He was taken to church by his parents. He had four brothers and one sister.
His grandfather was a Baptist preacher in Wade. His parents worked hard to make a living. He was taught to respect his elders and to work for a living. He had a work ethic that was very rare. He would learn how to do a job and did it to the best of his ability. He was a perfect attendance employee with only extremely bad weather or sickness keeping him from work. He was not greedy and believed in sharing. He would often help a stranger or a neighbor or friend. He loved his family and friends. He loved NASCAR, watching TV and napping on the couch. He was loved by nearly everyone who ever knew him. He loved the camaraderie with his friends at work. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War and was an exemplary soldier. He started working when he became sixteen years old and always worked to get what he wanted and to provide for his family. He was married to his wife Jane Johnson for nearly 47 years. He loved her from the beginning, but his love for her grew stronger and stronger with time. He was a Volkswagen technician for 22 years and shop foreman for 20 ' years for a total of 42 ' years with Valley Auto World ending only because of a brief fight with multiple myeloma cancer.
Mr. Anderson is survived by wife Jane Johnson of 46 ' years, and a son Duane Earl Anderson of the home; three brothers, Elbert Lorenzo Anderson and Daniel Charles Anderson both of Fayetteville, and James Douglas Anderson of Wade; one sister, Mildred Jane Koch of Myrtle Beach, SC.
