George Lewis Emerick

George Lewis Emerick, age 90, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away February 19, 2024. George was born in Cuyahoga County, Ohio to his parents, George and Ann. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Emerick and son David Emerick.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Rook, Jeanette Emerick, and Dawn Emerick; sons, Duane Emerick and Scott Emerick; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

George retired from the military in 1976 as a MSgt in Special Forces and received numerous awards for his time in service that include the United Nations Service Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal and many more. After his military career, George led the Criminal Justice Program at Robeson Technical Community College for seventeen years. 

His contribution to our community has impacted many lives and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
