Gracie Parker

Gracie Powell Simmons Parker, 84, died Saturday, August 26, 2012.



She was born in Lumberton, NC, on September 16, 1927 to the late Robert and Lula Prevatte Powell and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children, Edgar Simmons and by her second husband, Lee Parker.



She is survived by two daughters, Betty S. Burke and her husband, Lawrence of Fayetteville and Barbara S. Dunahoe and her husband, Henry of Red Springs; two sons, Robert Simmons and his wife, Judy of Newport and Thomas Simmons and his wife, Linda of Newport. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.



Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services of Hope Mills. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Pinecrest Funeral Service chapel. Interment will follow in Alloway Cemetery, Red Springs.
