After a brief stay in Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hildegard Wagner Kinlaw, 84, of Hope MIlls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
Mrs. Kinlaw was born September 19, 1929 in Bad Homburg, Germany to the late Anton and Luise Eich Wagner. She was raised in Germany during the difficult times of World War II, making her the strong willed woman she became. It was also during this time, that she would meet her future husband Harvey while he served in the U.S. Air Force. She was a devoted member of Hope Mills United Methodist Church and had a great passion for sewing and helping others.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Stevenson Kinlaw, Sr.; sister, Susanne Wagner; and brothers, Karl Wagner, Arthur Wagner, George Wagner, and Fritz Wagner.
Mrs. Kinlaw leaves behind her son, Harvey Stevenson Kinlaw, Jr. of Hope Mills; daughter, Susan Shumaker of Coats; three sisters, Marion Eich of Texas, Margaret Wagner of Missouri, and Dorathea Wagner of Georgia; granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Crawford of Asheville; and grandson, Justin Ross Shumaker of Virginia.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Kinlaw is now forever in the arms of her loving husband, Harvey the Sign Painter.
