Hubert Franklin Suggs, 78, of Hope Mills, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Born in Harnett County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Maggie Stewart Suggs. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Dianne Suggs; a son, Bryan Keith Suggs; a grandson, Christopher Clark; a sister, Ann McCall; and a brother, Roderick Knuckles.
Mr. Suggs is survived by his wife, Marie Parker Suggs; three daughters, Shari Maness and husband Leonard of Eastover, Teresa Maitland and husband Greg of Dunn, and Elaine Davis and husband Eric of Salisbury; two sisters, Lynda Knuckles of Ft. Mill SC, and Sylvia Raymond of New Smyrna Beach FL; three brothers, Ray Suggs of New Smyrna Beach FL, Archie Lee Suggs, Sr. of Fayetteville, and John Arnold Knuckles and wife Paulette of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Stephanie Clark, Dustin Maitland, Jessi Maitland, Joshua Suggs, Lauren Lancaster, and Spencer Locklear; and a great grandchild, Banks Pope.
Mr. Suggs was a dedicated deacon of Breezewood Church of God of Prophecy, a former Auxiliary police officer with the Fayetteville Police Department, and former Captain of F.I.L.I, and retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his church family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 15, 2018 at Breezewood Church. Burial will follow in Hodges Chapel Cemetery in Benson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm on Sunday at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills.
