Ida Horner

Ida Calhoun Horner, 89, of Hope Mills, died Thursday, Sep. 3, 2015, surrounded by family.

Born on January 20, 1926 in Cumberland County, Ida was the daughter of the late Jim and Evelyn Calhoun.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Horner and sister, Virginia Koonce.

Ida was a lifelong resident of Hope Mills, and a founding member of Victory Baptist Church. She loved all her children, grandson, great grandchildren, great-great grandson, and four-legged family members.

Ida leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Brenda Dix and Harriet Horner, both of Hope Mills; grandson, John Dix and wife Candice of Fuquay-Varina; great grandchildren, Samantha Autry and husband Bobby of Stedman; Natalie Dix of Raleigh, Lucas and Logan Dix, both of Fuquay-Varina; great-great grandson, Max Autry of Stedman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Ida will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
