Ina "Curly" Davis

   Ina "Curly" Davis passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 102 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Davis and three children, Donald L. Davis Jr, Joanne D. Culver, and Edward R. Davis. She is survived by her son. Robert Davis (wife Gail) of San Marcos, TX; daughter-in-law, Helen Davis of Grays Creek, NC; three grandchildren, Amy Reilly (husband Aaron) of Pine, CO, Angela Burnham (husband Dan) of Valrico, FL, and Donald Davis III (wife Nickie) of Bunnlevel, NC; and five great-grandchildren, Cameron Costanza, Tyler Cesky, Hannah Reilly, Mason Reilly, and Luke Davis.

   Her husband, Army Sergeant Donald Davis, died in Japan during the Korean Conflict, leaving her with four children aged 18 months to 5 years. She was active in their lives through service as Cub Scout leader, PTA member, chauffeur and overall cheerleader. She was always very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

   Curly started working as a bank teller in 1966 with Southern National Bank in Hope Mills. She retired from Southern National in 1984 with 18 years of service to the people of Hope Mills. Her customers appreciated her smile, her friendliness and the excellent service she provided. 

   The family would like to thank the staff of Harmony at Hope Mills for the wonderful care provided over the last several months of her life. She was made to feel welcomed and loved by the entire staff. She left this world with many new friends among the staff and other residents. 

   Funeral arrangements are being directed by Pinecrest Funeral Funeral and Cremation Services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to your favorite charity in her honor. 

   The funeral service will be held at the Hope Mills Methodist Church at 2:30 on Sunday, November 3, 2024, with visitation at the church before the service at 1:30. A private burial will be held after the service in the Gilmont Cemetery in Hope Mills. Curly will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
