James Barfield, Jr.

James Clinton Barfield, Jr., 88 of St. Pauls, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born April 3, 1933, he is the son of James C. Barfield, Sr. and Hattie Polston Barfield.  Along with his parents, is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Barfield, a son, James Glenn Barfield; and brothers, Billy and Ted Barfield.

He is survived by daughters, Nina Watson (Russ) of Elk Grove, CA, Camellia Barfield of Fayetteville, and Kimberly Jeffreys (Wesley)  of Hope Mills; sons, Dan Perry Barfield (Jeannie) of Lumberton, Joel Clay Barfield (Molly)  of St. Pauls, and Anthony Lynn Barfield of St. Pauls; grandchildren, Tabitha Bagley, Stanley Bagley, Ryan Bagley, Tiffany Faulk, Chris Barfield, James Barfield, Brandon Edwards, Trey Cain, Jeremy Williams, and Jessica Williams; great grandchildren, Kayla Bagley, Harley Shank, Madison Bagley, Makenzie Bagley, Landon Bagley, Ryan Bagley, Danica Faulk, Emersen Faulk, Gavin Williams, Gracie Cain, and Samuel Cain, Jr.; great-great grandchildren, Skyelynn, Allison, and Abigayle; and a brother, Bobby Barfield.

James served in the United States Army.   He worked at Kelly Springfield for 25 years before retiring.   He loved to ride horses and spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends, Monday, July 26, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday 27,2021 at 12:00 Noon, at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services.   Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
