James Wesley Coffey

James Wesley Coffey, 73, of Fayetteville passed away May 1, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida he is the son of Dorothy Targett Coffey and the late J. W. Coffey.

He is survived by his wife, Fernavel Coffey; daughter, Brianna-Faith Coffey; son, James Wesley Coffey, lll (Trey); sisters, Cheryl Coffey Jolly and Darla Ellison; brothers, Tim Coffey & wife Wendy and Dale Coffey & wife Cherry; grandchildren, Kamryn Coffey, Parker Coffey and Sarah Lily Coffey.

James served his country for over 23 years in the US Army where he was a Medical Lab Specialist.  He received the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge and  Army Superior Unit Award.

Some of James hobbies include playing golf, camping, gardening and spending time with his family.

He was the proud winner of the "Annual Coffey Cup Golf Tournament" that was started in 1996 winning it six times.

He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
