James Michael Cummings

James Michael Cummings, 43 of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023.

Born January 30, 1980, in Cumberland County, James was the son of Leon Cummings and Edna Naillon Cummings. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Capp and Leola Cummings and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Stacy Naillon.

In addition to his parents, James is also survived by his brother, Leon Cummings, Jr. and his wife Melody; sister, Kimberly Belcher and her husband Franklin; sister, Rebecca Brock and her husband Harrell; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.

James was a simple and kind soul with a heart of gold. He enjoyed life through music, whether by listening to his favorite songs or by playing his guitar. His love of cooking for and eating with his family and friends was only surpassed by the unconditional love he had for them all. Time spent with family and friends was time well spent. James will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to First Church of Fayetteville, 2813 Cumberland Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.

Any flowers ordered to honor James should be delivered directly to the church so they can be there for his life celebration.
