James Curry, Sr.

James Linton Curry, Sr., 84, of Fayetteville, NC passed away at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on March 2, 2016.

He was born in Rome, GA in 1931 to Carl and Christine Curry, where he lived for many years until relocating to Fayetteville in 1969. He served in the USMC and later worked in factory management and construction. James loved sports and was an avid follower of the Atlanta Braves. He was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Massey Hill Baptist Church.

James enjoyed every minute of time spent with his family and prepared every day to meet the Lord. He will be remembered for his never ending compassion and commitment to his family and Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and late wife Eva Mae Curry. He is survived by a sister Evelyn Brooks of Rockhill, SC; and children James Curry, Jr., Danny and Melanie Curry, Sandy and Ellen Curry, Jackie and Don McCreary of Rome, GA; Richard Mason, Debbie Mason, Maria and Ernie Fountain, Lori Munsey of Fayetteville; John Mason and Kathy Atkins of Logan, WV; and Mike and Pat Mason of Clayton, NC. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
