HOPE MILLS - Mr. James Bruce McLaurin, of 5951 Spinner Road, of Hope Mills, passed Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
Born April 2, 1944 to Eustace and Doris McLaurin of Fayetteville. Bruce lived majority of his life in the Fayetteville and Hope Mills area. He married in 1984 to Yaveda Gail Maynor, they were married for 31 years. Bruce was the last of 5 siblings, Dorothy Ann, E.E., Jr., Linda Kay, Sarah Kathryn. Which he is survived by, his wife Yaveda Gail, sons; Gary Baxley, Jonathon, Joshua, Justin and Jarrett; grandchildren, Jessica Baxley, Brittany Smith, Kaylee Thomas, Charleigh Mae Short and his special companion Sissy McLaurin.
Bruce retired from the town of Hope Mills, which he served as a mechanic and retired in 2010. He also was a former baseball coach for the Hope Mills Youth Association for over ten plus years.
His greatest love was to sit with nature and enjoy the sounds of the earth. He spent his free time fishing with a brim buster and watching his children and others play his favorite sport baseball. He loved the sounds and smells of Friday night Football. One of his greatest achievements as a coach was when he finally won the Dixie Youth Pee-Wee Championship in Hope Mills.
My husband was a simple but complex man. He was funny and full of love if he cared for you.
James Bruce McLaurin, a name that put the fear of God in some but filled with love at the same time.
