James Melvin

James Carl Melvin, 77, of Hope Mills died Thursday, November 29, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.



He was born June 4, 1935 in Asheboro, North Carolina to the late E. Carl and Ada Melvin.



James ran his own garage and wrecker service. He loved cars and Blue Grass music.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Melvin was also preceded in death by a son, Grayson Melvin; two brothers Ted Melvin, Sr. and Cecil Melvin.

James is survived by his wife, Catherine Melvin of the home; one son, Frank Lewis and wife Jo Ann of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Charlie Lewis of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jennifer Boyette and husband Alston of Satellite Beach, Florida; two great grandchildren, Angelica and Kaitlyn Boyette.



Visitation will be Saturday evening, December 1, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral Services will be Sunday, December  2, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services with interment to follow in the Melvin Family Cemetery in Bladen County.



The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to one's favorite charity.
