James Edward Robinson, 75, of Fayetteville died Friday, June 21, 2013.
Born in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late James and Ida Robinson. He also was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Robinson; brother, C.A. Roberson; and sisters, Hattie Murphy, Eunice Smith, Shirley Downs, Gladys Leonard and Estelle Lahti.
James loved sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren play. He loved his friends at Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center. He was an elder and church treasurer at Hope Mills Pentecostal Holiness Church. He also served as a board member of Cumberland Road Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Robinson of the home; children, Steven Mark Robinson of Fayetteville, Elaine Robinson Leggett of Dunn, Karen Robinson Drew and husband Steve of Fayetteville, Tonia Robinson Corney and husband Tom of Hope Mills, and Michele Robinson Hall and husband Tim of Parkton; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie and Bryan Robinson, Erica, Whitney and Trey Leggett, Tyler and Matthew Drew, Holly and Kelly Corney, Amanda Andreatta and husband Travis, Katelyn Hall and Brandon Hall and wife Leslie.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Crystal Springs Chapel, 1400 Crystal Springs Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
