James Michael Spell

James Spell, 72 of Parkton, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born in Cumberland County, he is the son of Perry Oliver Spell and Mary Gladys Blanchard Spell. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Jean Lancaster; brothers, Terry Wayne Spell, Donnie Ray Spell, Johnie Earl Spell and Richard Neil Spell. 

James is survived by a daughter, Jayme Michelle Turnage and husband Joseph; sons, Joseph Spell Sr. and wife Tiffany, Robert Glen Stewart Jr. and wife Christine; grandchildren, Joseph Michael Spell Jr., Gavin James Spell, Aubrey Rene Spell, and Charlotte Grey Turnage; sisters, Barbara Ann Spell Broome, Mary Spell Althouse, Dora Dean Spell Burke & husband Bill and Esther Ruth Spell Taylor and husband Mike.

James was a home builder, inspector and land developer.

His favorite hobbies were fishing, golfing and spending time at the beach. There will be a Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. 

James will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
