Jimmy Edwards, Jr., died Sunday, February 13, 2011.

Born in Harnett County, he is the son of James Edwards, Sr. and Shirley Faye Porter Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Edwards; children, James Edwards III, Patrick Edwards, Jason Blythe, Dana Soule, Jamie Edwards; brothers, Ricky Edwards, Hank Edwards, Curtis Edwards and eight grandchildren.

Jimmy Edwards Jr., one of the winningest short-track racers in the Carolinas known on the local racing scene as "Porky," was 57.
