Joe Thorne

Mr. Joe Yancey Thorne, 82, of Hope Mills died Thursday, October 10, 2013.

He is the son of the late Oscar Thorne and Clara Puryear Thorne. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Danny Ellis Pruitt.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Thorne of the home; daughters, Sandra Woodell and husband James of Laurinburg, Libby Britt and husband Mitchell of Lynchburg, VA., Pasty Goggins and husband William of Rustburg, VA., Belinda LeQuire and husband Roger of Raleigh; a son, Ernest N. Pruitt, Jr., . and wife Glenda of Foley, Al., brothers, Oscar Dillard Thorne of Raleigh and Larry Thorne of Clayton; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 11 great great-grandchildren.

Mr. Thorne loved his church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope Mills First Baptist Church, 4621 Cameron Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348 in his honor. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
