John Britting, Jr.

Retired Army First Sgt. John Martin "Jay" Britting, Jr., 47, of Fayetteville died Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Chapel Hill.

Born on December 15, 1968 in El Dorado, Kansas, Jay was the son of John Britting, Sr. and Dianna Love Britting.

Serving over 20 years in the U.S. Army, Jay toured in Iraq and Afghanistan, receiving numerous badges and medals including the Bronze Star.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Britting, Sr.

Jay is survived by his four sons, Aaron Britting, Jeremy Britting, Marc Britting, and Derek Britting; mother, Dianna Britting; brother, David Britting; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jay will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
