John Willis

Hope Mills, North Carolina

John Douglas Willis, 67, died peacefully Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Durham VA Medical Center.



He was born on Easter Sunday, April 1st, 1945 to Winfred and Margie Lovell Willis.



John was preceded in death by his father WR “Boogie” Willis, brothers-in-law Kenneth Murders and Larry Parker, and two granddaughters Virginia and Elizabeth.



John is survived by his loving wife Linda “Cookie” Parker Willis of 42 years, his mother Margie Willis 86, two sisters Rachel Murders, and Demita Rhoades;

brother-in-law Charles Rhoades; sister-in-law Judy Parker; three sons Jason and wife Mary Jo, John and wife Cassandra, Joshua and wife Brittany; special son Joey Reaves; grandsons Richard, Lansing, Patrick; and a host of nieces and nephews.



He is a veteran of the US Army and Vietnam War; 18 year employee of Alcoa, Benton, AR; Wrenn Handling, Fayetteville, NC; and his most loved job, a Baptist Minister for years.



In lieu of flowers make a donation in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital http://www.stjude.org or Hope Mills First Baptist Church http://fbchm.org/ to support his love for helping children and the church.



He will be buried in Arkansas at Gravel Hill Baptist Church Benton, AR.



“North Carolina Service:



The viewing will be held at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills, Saturday May 5th, 2012 from 6:00 the 7:00 PM with funeral service immediately following at 7 PM.



“Arkansas Service:



Graveside viewing and service will be Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2 PM at Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 6259 Highway 9, Benton, Arkansas.
