Johnson Jacobs

Johnson "Jay" Jacobs, Sr., 77 of Hope Mills, died May 4, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born in Clio, South Carolina, he is the son of Gurthie Jacobs and Annie Turner Smiley.

He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn of the home; daughters, Betty and Brenda Jacobs of Bennettsville, SC, Sheila Whaley and husband Danny of Raleigh, NC, Patty Ledford and husband Randall of Clyde,NC, Peggy Davis and husband James of Wallace, SC, Faye and Cheryl Johnson of Fayetteville, NC, April Navedo and husband Tony of Knoxville, Tennessee, Johnson Jacobs Jr. and wife Teea of Hope Mills, NC, Larry Jacobs and wife Kathy of Fayetteville, NC, Jimmy Ray Jacobs of Bennettsville, SC, Daryl Johnson of Richmond, Virginia, Shane Caulder and wife Leann of Fayetteville, NC, Glenn Jacobs of Bennettsville, SC; brother, Gurthie Jacobs of McCall, SC; 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Mr. Jacobs enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading his Bible, and going to church. His greatest achievement in life was Chaplain Ministry. He was a man of great wisdom. He enjoyed spending time with his family. It was a family tradition to gather at the Holidays and have a family meal. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
