Jonnie Lee Robertson, 88, of Fayetteville, NC, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
Born August 13, 1928 in Polkton, NC, Jonnie was the daughter of the late Sue Addie "Bessie" and John Thomas Treadaway.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Howard Mitchel "Mike" Robertson.
Jonnie (Jonlee for the Charlotte folks) is survived by a sister, Louise Cobb and a brother, Tony Treadaway, both of Charlotte, NC.
Mother, as we all know her, is also survived by four children: Alan Robertson and wife Debbie of Mt. Airy, NC; Pamela Sherman and husband Charles of New Market, AL; Gary Robertson and wife Debbie of Laurinburg, NC and Kelly Robertson of Fayetteville, NC.
She is also survived by six grandchildren: Kris, Heather, Amy, Julie, Theresa and Sarah, and 12 great grandchildren: Caleb, Taylor, Christian, Chase, Caraline, Samuel, Michael, Bailey, Kaden, Andrew, Abigail and Sophia.
Jonnie was one of a kind. A ball of sass and fire, never a dull moment with her. She loved going to the beach and spending time there with family and friends. She was the happiest at the beach. She and her beach buddies loved to craft things from their beach finds. Lots of shell covered containers! Crafting was something she and Pop did together. Pop would make wooden toys, birdhouses and other designs, then she would put the "mother touch" on them. Mother loved music and loved to dance.
Mother was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will leave a void in many people's lives and will be missed. Those of us left behind are grateful for her peaceful passing.
I can see her now meeting up with family and old friends to dance the night.
