Joseph Byrd

Joseph “Josie” Carlton Byrd, 60 of Fayetteville, passed away on March 29, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Josie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Byrd, Jr.; brothers, Dewey Byrd and Charlie Byrd; and his sister, Vonceil Byrd.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Byrd; son, Joseph Byrd, Jr. & wife Tracy; daughter, Crystal Distel & husband Randall, Jr.; granddaughter, Alyssa Byrd; mother, Martha “Rat” Byrd; brothers, Ernie Byrd, Kenny Byrd and Terry Byrd; sisters, Ella Byrd and Frances Cayton; his Yorkie companion, Allie Cat; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Josie will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
