Judy Taylor

Judy Gail Taylor, 72 of Hope Mills, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021.

Born January 3, 1949 in Harnett County, Judy is the daughter of Opal Jackson White and the late Luther White. Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack J. Taylor, who passed in 1997; and her sister, Doris Faye White.

Judy Taylor worked at Dunkin Donuts in Fayetteville, NC and then the BBQ Lodge from 1971-1984, where she met and worked for her husband, Mack Taylor. She enjoyed serving people and considered her customers as family.  After the restaurant was sold, she continued serving customers in the family's catering business, Taylors Catering Service.  In 1985, her husband purchased land in the Grays Creek township of Hope Mills in order to develop an event facility / restaurant for Judy and their son Shane, to operate.  Judy and Shane together operated Paradise Acres/Taylors Catering Service from 1985 until she retired in 1998.

Along with her mother, Opal, Judy is also survived by her son, Shane Taylor and wife Kelly of Hope Mills; daughter, Melissa Taylor of Fayetteville; son, Maxwell Taylor and wife Jessica of St. Pauls; granddaughter, Macklyn Weilert and husband Josh of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Lynnsey Taylor of Hope Mills; grandson, Dillon Taylor of Hope Mills; brother, David White and wife Julie of Fayetteville; sister, Ann Lozaw of Maggie Valley; sister, Dale Bentley and husband Jerry of Wilmington; and a host of other family and friends.

Judy was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
