Lawrence Wayne Wanamaker, 72, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 in his home.

He was born March 24, 1941 in Iowa County, Iowa to the late Richard E. Wanamaker and Helen L. Smith Wanamaker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Rockfish Road in Hope Mills. Burial with military honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Murchison Road in Spring Lake.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Wanamaker leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kathleen Wanamaker; sons, Lawrence Wayne Wanamaker, Michael Lawrence Wanamaker, and Duane Kimball Wanamaker; daughter, April Lynn Wanamaker; stepdaughters, Terri Coin and Susan Meedan; and six grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
