Lillian Thaggard

On Friday, August 23, 2019 Lillian Carver Thaggard, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at home.

A lifelong resident of Cumberland County, Lillian was the daughter of the late Geneva Patterson Carver and Herbert Carver. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Priscilla Glaskin; brothers, Alvis, Leonard, and Robert; and sisters, Margaret, Lois, and Ruby.

Lillian is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles Thaggard; daughter Ginny Burcham and husband Darren of Winston-Salem; son, Charles Lynwood Thaggard, Jr. of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Sean Evans and wife Candace of Wilmington, and Anne Carver Burcham and Virginia Burcham, both of Winston-Salem; great grandchildren, Jack Evans and Layla Evans, both of Wilmington; brother, Warren Carver and wife Cecilia of Tucson, AZ; and sister, Rachel Williams of Lancaster, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lilian loved her family and cherished time with them all.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Lake Lynn Baptist Church, 3363 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, NC 28306. Lillian was a charter member of the church and, as long as her health permitted, was active in the visitation ministry and administrative church duties.

Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
