Louis Alvin Knapp

Louis Alvin Knapp, 83 of Cameron, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Born January 26, 1940 in Fort Ann, NY, Louis is the son of the late Harold Knapp and Rita Morris Knapp. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Knapp.

Louis is survived by his wife Christa Knapp; son, James Knapp and wife Dorothy; son, Roy Knapp; daughter Heidi Wentworth and husband Blake; grandson, Michael Clifford; granddaughter, Christina Wentworth; brother, Bill Knapp; sister, Betty Taylor; sister-in-law, Eileen Knapp; and a host of other family and friends.

Louis grew up on a farm in Fort Ann where he developed a love for animals that he would carry with him throughout his life. At 17, he joined the US Army and honorably served for 33 years before retiring as a Sergeant First Class. During his military career, he was the recipient of numerous ribbons and medals illustrating his outstanding achievements.

Louis was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
