Loyd "Bud" Jackson, Jr., 68 of Hope Mills, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
Born in Cumberland County, he was the son of Loyd Hubert Jackson, Sr. and Myrtle Page Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Patricia Baker, Alice Jackson and Debbie Sykes.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Jackson; a son, Loyd "Bud" Jackson III, of Stedman; two daughters, Rebecca Jo Spencer and husband Bryan of Hope Mills and Mahera Abu-Seif of Grays Creek; three grandchildren, Jayne Logan Spencer, Caleb Spencer and Landon Robinson; a sister, Glenda "Goodie" Mosley; and many nieces and nephews.
Bud worked at Carolina Telephone and retired from Century Link after thirty-nine years of service and was a member of the CWA Union for many years. He played volley ball and baseball with Carolina Telephone. Bud also coached with West Fayetteville Recreation for eight years with Coach Pitch. He was very active at his church and devoted his time to working with the Youth. Bud and Sherry were very involved with Marriage Encounter for many years. Bud loved helping others and had a heart of gold. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
