Marlene Frances (Camerlengo) Riley was born 18 July 1949 to Mario and Mary Rose (Mitzi) Camerlengo in Steubenville, Ohio. She attended St. Anthony Elementary School and graduated from Catholic Central High School with the class of 1967. In 1970, Marlene graduated from the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. In 1973, she married David W. Riley. She worked at Ohio Valley Hospital and later Trinity East from 1971 to 2006. After relocating to Hope Mills, North Carolina to be closer to her children, Marlene continued to work at Cape Fear Valley Hospital from 2007 until her retirement in 2015.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son, David, his wife Colene and their daughter, Ava of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Jennifer, her husband, Eric and their children, Ali and Jordan of Hope Mills, NC; granddaughter Madisyn, her husband Jake and great-grandson, Ezra of Swansea, Wales; sister, Ida and niece, Pennie. Marlene will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother and aunt, fun-loving friend and a respected nursing supervisor.
A virtual memorial service will be held at a later date.
